Your safety is our business

All children, young people, adults and elders who come to Adventure Works have a right to feel safe and be safe. You have the right to feel safe with us regardless of your background, culture, skin colour, gender, sexuality or spirituality.

You are welcome here!

We acknowledge that for many of the young people we work with, a sense of safety is unfamiliar. The right to safety is the least we can offer you, though in itself it does not deliver on the ‘just world’ many of you deserve.

The welfare of the young people in our care will always be our first priority and we have a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse, or abuse and harm in any form.

We aim to create a safe, friendly and welcoming environment where children, young people, adults and elders feel safe and can explore the range of outdoor and adventurous experiences we offer.

We invite everyone who participates in the work we do to take responsibility in different ways:

  • We (Adventure Works) are responsible for ensuring the services we offer are safe and ethical, at all levels of organisaiton and service provision.
  • We invite our employees and volunteers to embody our values, and enact the good practices that are bounded by our code of conduct, ethics and training.
  • We invite you, our participants to let us know when our actions are not living up to your expectations or hopes. We are open to this at any time.
  • Within the scope of work we undertake we aknowledge that we are imperfect and impermnenant allies, but we are relentless in our intent to do good work in ways that are useful to you.
